ousland and ulrich north pole in reverse

"This time, the northernmost point on earth is not the end, but the beginning of a new Ousland/Ulrich joint-venture planned to start today: Børge and Thomas are skiing along 900 km on the frozen Arctic Ocean to Franz-Josef Land, in Siberia. Once they reach this group of islands, the two men will follow the tracks of Norwegian explorer Fridtjof Nansen on a 350km trip across the archipelago and this leg of the expedition will be done on skis and kayak."

Borge Ousland could be seen as the foremost modern day explorer and last year, with Mike Horn, was the first to reach the North Pole in the cold, dark Arctic winter.
